This is a study of Badal (Red Ochre) when it is viewed under the microscope. April explores the micrograph depic ng imagery of the red ochre. The micrographs were obtained from the University of Sydney through a project inspired by Microscopy Australia. April has used tradi onal red ochre from the Kimberley as the medium of choice- which is also the subject ma er of choice.
April has also combined other natural pigments such as mawundu, or otherwise known as white ochre, and charcoal to create a visually unique piece of art studying red ochre.
