A professional lifetime spent in chaotic, cramped and noisy emergency departments leads Ros to seek out the quiet in our vast vistas. Landscapes to settle in to, that give you time to reflect and wash over you. Old places that on closer consideration, silently hold tension and energy in fine balance.

“I seek to portray age, erosion, balance and quiet contemplative spaces within our Australian landscape. I have always had an interest in geology, so it was only natural that my works focus on rock formations and ancient landscapes.

As my lovely studio in Quindalup, sits overlooking a dam on a flat farm, I need to travel out yonder to find my inspiration in our great open spaces.

The Kimberley has land formations and a colour palette that is unique and awe inspiring”
