This painting describes a particular place located on Ngargaroon (Texas) country – which is my mother’s country, known as ‘Red Butte’. It mostly portrays the ruggedness as well as the landscapes of this beautiful part of Texas, and the Surrounding Hills. The mighty Ord River. Plenty full fish in this river, I remember swimming, hunting for bush food and fishing, happily being out on country with family. We never left empty handed, Red Butte was also one of our favourite places to visit during the long weekend/holidays.
