CARVED BOAB NUT BY INDIGENOUS ARTIST from the West Kimberley
These nuts are from the boab tree which is found in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. They have been beautifully and skilfully carved with intricate designs by indigenous artists of the region. The artists engrave the nuts using sharpened knives and razor blades. The time spent engraving depends very much on the size of the nut and complexity and intricacy of the design.
