– Mel Foster
Melissa Foster is a painter, who currently works from her home studio in Broome, Western Australia. Inspired by the natural environment of Northwest Australia, Fosters paintings are abstract expressions of vegetation and fauna above and below the sea. Colour and expressive mark making play an important role in the way Foster captures the form of her subject, leading to an interesting tension between loose large brushstrokes and detailed patterning in her paintings.
