‘Blooming in Broome’
‘Budding, blossoming, flowering and blooming are words that describe each new day in Broome, as the sun rises over Roebuck Bay. Adorned with its petal-like clouds of colour and beauty, the sun catches the early birds, the moving tide, the fishermen and their boats.
This exhibition of large oil paintings tries to capture all of this bounty, through a display of flowers and the light and tranquillity of Roebuck Bay’ Ellis Pearson

About The Artist
Ellis trained as a graphic designer and painter before being bitten by the theatre bug. This took him to Paris where he trained in physical theatre and mask work. For the next 35 years he created a visual, unique style of theatre which he performed all over the world.
Meanwhile his love of the visual arts deepened and he evolved an energetic, visual way of painting. He now spends his time between Broome and Perth, painting in his Roebuck Bay Studio. Surrounded by the sounds and the wonder of nature, Ellis has plenty of material to inspire him to fill his large canvases.
