Ingrid Windram, a Western Australian artist, has long been shaped by time spent in the Kimberley and by extensive work in Broome. She is best known for rich, textured, light-filled interpretations of the Kimberley landscape. Working mainly in acrylics and mixed media, her immediacy-driven paintings emerge after time in remote regions, inviting emotional connection and contemplation.
Windram maintains a strong artistic connection to the Broome/Kimberley region and remains a prominent voice in contemporary Australian landscape painting. Her work is held in private and corporate collections across Australia, reflecting a sustained commitment to place and memory.
“My painting is not about trying to copy the landscape, but about how it makes me feel – it’s a response to the light, the air, the colours and the shapes. I want to give the viewer a sense of being there, not just seeing it.”- Ingrid Windram
