Bronwen Newbury has been painting professionally for nearly three decades, and has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions around Australia and New Zealand receiving many awards and accolades over the years. Her work is represented in numerous corporate and private collections within Australia and internationally.

She is known for her landscape paintings, particularly of the Australian outback from where she once lived, and her more recent colourful depictions of people and crowds enjoying our great Australian lifestyle. Bronwen trained in Perth and Scotland, and has lived in outback New South Wales and rural Western Australia.

Landscape – be it coastal, rural, urban or outback – is central to her inspiration. It follows that ‘Landscape plus life’ could be her creative motto. Her paintings – often colourful, sometimes whimsical, always evocative – reflect not only scenes from her previous life on the land, but the many other places, people, scenery and beaches she has known, or hopes to know one day.

In her home studio/gallery – a converted garage– she plays intuitively with light, colour and shape to create her distinctive acrylic artworks. She is endlessly versatile, moving effortlessly between abstract and representational, landscapes and figurative works.
