Hosted by the Kimberley’s premier art gallery, Black Stump, this seven-night, six-day creative immersion will awaken your artistic spirit and leave you inspired.

Broome’s pristine coastline is famous for its dramatic contrasts. Where the red, ochre cliffs of Gantheaume Point meet the soft, white sands of Cable Beach before blending seamlessly into the rich turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, creating a visual spectacle that is simply unparalleled.

Perched on the edge of the vibrant Roebuck Bay, Moonlight Bay Suites offers a seamless blend of comfort, style and convenience with their fully serviced, self-contained apartments.
Their newly refurbished rooms feature modern amenities, luxurious furnishings and cooking facilities, ensuring that your stay is both restful and refreshing. Enjoy an array of on-site facilities including the 28m outdoor pool, fully equipped gym and poolside BBQs.
Located a short walk from Bars and Restaurants, the Moonlight Bay Suites is surrounded with Broome’s raw nature providing you with ample inspiration for your workshop days. They are located just around the corner from the art retreat venue and directly across the road from the Black Stump Gallery where your final night exhibition will be held.

Simply fill out the online booking form below! Make sure to include your accommodation preference. If you wish to source your own accommodation, please choose the ‘own accommodation’ option. Once we have reached the minimum number we require to operate the retreat, you will receive an email with a deposit invoice to be paid. Please submit payment for this invoice within 48 hours or your booking will be released.
No! All basic materials will be provided for you to use. Please note: If you choose to bring your own piece of equipment, be sure to take care of it as we will not be responsible for any loss or damage.
Morning tea, lunch, & one dinner are included in the retreat. Please make us aware if you have dietary requirements at the time of booking so we can make the caterers aware.
We will do our absolute best to accommodate dietary requirements. Please make us aware at the time of booking so that we can make the caterers aware.
The total cost of the retreat can be paid in instalments to the account provided. The total amount just needs to be received by the deadline of 20/02/25.
If you cancel your booking, one of the following will apply.
Written notice of cancellation from you is required to confirm the cancellation. The electronic date of receipt by email will be the date from which the cancellation is calculated.
We are not liable for refunds for unused services if you leave a retreat for any reason after it has commenced or if you do not join the retreat without notice.
In the very unlikely event that we need to cancel the retreat, a full refund will be provided.
Of course! If you are looking after your own accommodation, please be mindful of its location and accessibility to the workshop venue. Public transport and taxi services are limited in Broome.
Broome climate is typically beautiful in May, however we are also well known for our unpredictable weather patterns. Please keep this in mind when packing.
No, a shuttle will not be provided. Upon arriving at Broome International Airport, you will need to find your way to your respective accommodations. There are taxi services available in Broome, and they are often located at the airport during arrival times. Alternatively, Broome transit offer hotel transfers that can be booked at their hospitality desk in the arrivals hall.
We will do our best to accommodate any accessibility needs. Please notify us upon booking so that we can arrange for an appropriate room. Contact us if you would like to discuss any specific needs.
Workshops will run from 9-4 daily unless otherwise directed by the artist.
The retreat will run from 9-4 daily (unless otherwise directed by Christine). Outside of this time you will be able to get out and about to experience all that Broome has to offer. The local bus stop is within walking distance from the Moonlight Bay Suites and operates every half hour during the Dry Season. This is a great way to get around town, head to Cable Beach for a sunset or into the heart of China Town for a wander. Head to the oldest operating outdoor Cinema in the world, Sun Cinemas, for an evening movie. There will be plenty of visitor information available in the reception area of the Moonlight Bay Suites for you to have a look at.
Artists will be painting and drawing on paper and canvas using quality acrylic paints, charcoal, crayon, collage, gold leaf and lots of acrylic medium to make interesting textures and markers. We will use the Broome landscape, architecture and colours as our inspiration. Starting the retreat with some basic rules and then learning how to break them! Learn to let go and free up your technique. Artist will be encouraged to peruse their own project with full support from Christine.
